Team
In our manufactory, we are all artists in our field, and true art is created through the perfect combination of our individual skills and visions. Every detail is carefully crafted so that our watches carry our collective lifeblood.
We welcome new talent and are happy to be inspired by fresh impulses, while at the same time passing on our many years of experience. This creates a unique dynamic that inspires and leads to extraordinary creations. It is particularly important to us that our values and philosophy always remain alive and guide our creative process.

The Path to the Watch
For us, a watch is more than just technology - it comes to life through its artistic design. But true emotions only arise through the harmonious interplay of aesthetics and clarity. This balance accompanies us from the initial idea to the finished watch. We start with the fundamental question: Who are we designing this watch for and which displays make sense? Production starts on precise machines. The finishing is then done by hand to bring the technical shapes to life. Brilliance is created through clear lines and clear delineation of the different surface finishes. The clever use of different metal colors and the accentuation of the contours through the beveling creates a clearly recognizable structure in the overall appearance of the movement. The aim is to create a timelessly beautiful timepiece that is suitable for everyday use.

Mastery
Just as a musician invests many hours in practicing to present his art at a concert, a watchmaker needs years of dedication to master his skills. But is that alone enough to captivate the audience? Even if he has perfected his craft, he will not touch hearts if he does not speak through his work. Only through his personal passion, through the emotions he pours into his work, can he transport us into his world.
The training of a watchmaker takes three years to complete. During this time, he lays the foundations for his professional career, but the real hours of practice only begin afterwards. "At Lang & Heyne, a watchmaker is responsible for his watch - from the parts kit to the finished watch." This philosophy requires us to practise various work steps intensively and to think in complex contexts. We draw our energy and perseverance from our passion for the art of watchmaking, from our craftsmanship and the design of the mechanics. Our dedication and our vision for the perfect movement flow into every single detail of our watches.
Over the past two decades, Lang & Heyne has evolved from a visionary craftsman's workshop into an internationally recognized and respected company, as well as a coveted brand. We are part of the Tempus Arte Group, headquartered in Munich, which possesses a profound understanding of the industry and enjoys a globally recognized reputation.

Our Roots
Elector August the Strong, also known as Friedrich August I of Saxony, showed a particular interest in astronomy and the instruments needed for it, which significantly contributed to the flourishing of watchmaking in Saxony in the 18th century. The rich mineral resources obtained through mining in Saxony laid the foundation for a diverse mechanical industry. Renowned court watchmakers like Johann Heinrich Seyffert, Johann Christian Schumann, Gotthelf August Köhler, and Johann Friedrich Gutkaes crafted precise timepieces in their Dresden workshops that were essential for celestial observation. This tradition and expertise paved the way for the rise of precision watchmaking in Dresden, which also forms the roots of the Glashütte watch industry. The tradition of watchmaking and precision manufacturing lives on in our modern manufactory "Lang & Heyne" in Dresden. We continue the values of craftsmanship excellence and precise timekeeping that are rooted in this historical connection between the royal court and watchmakers.
